Competing in the Olympics is a goal that many athletes work hard to achieve throughout their careers. The University of Mannheim and the Mannheim Business School boast five Elite Sports Scholarship holders who have geared up for months to compete in Paris at the end of July. FORUM met with them during their preparations.
Whether it’s reusable cups or second-hand shopping, recycling has come to play an important role in many areas of life. And the Mannheim Institute of Sports (IFS) is no exception: Recycling boxes for sportswear and tennis balls showcase the institute’s commitment to sustainability.
The previous two editions of the city-wide reading event “Mannheim reads a book” were full-blown success stories – to be continued this fall. This year’s featured novel is Drei Kameradinnen (“Sisters in Arms”) by Shida Bazyar.
For Mannheim doctoral student Sophia Rishyna, it was a childhood dream come true: In April 2024, she played for one million euros in the German edition of the classic TV gameshow Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? with host Günther Jauch.
Two photographs taken by the University of Mannheim were nominated for the final round of the 2023 PR-Bild Award, a prestigious competition celebrating the best PR pictures from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, awarded annually since 2006.
