In addition to the implementation of the energy transition, the most important topics on the Board’s agenda are a new foreign economic policy in a new geopolitical situation, the financial sustainability of the social security systems, climate protection, and shaping competition in the digital era.

“Many policy questions today are complex and affect various ministries. Carbon pricing, for example, has effects on climate change but also social and industrial policy implications. “It’s important to us to keep this in mind and incorporate these aspects into our discussions”, says the economic expert Janeba.

About the Board of Academic Advisors
The Board of Academic Advisors has 41 researchers as members. The Board is independent of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and publishes its findings at regular intervals. In February, the Board of Academic Advisors has published a report on the transition to a climate-neutral industry, sustainable markets, and climate protection contracts. The Board meets five times a year and chooses the topics of discussion independently. The results of the consultations are then published as expertises.
