Business, Economics, and Mathematics: a perfect combination in a digitalized world! Often invisible yet irreplaceable, mathematics can be found everywhere in our daily lives and in economic processes. Be it artificial intelligence of smartphones, weather forecasts in apps or on TV, online advertising on social media, or delivery routes for online shopping: all of this would be unthinkable without mathematical tools.
In the bachelor's program in Mathematics in Business and Economics at the University of Mannheim, students do not only acquire knowledge in mathematical fundamentals and techniques, but also learn to place mathematical questions of different kinds into economic context. The main areas of focus are applied fields such as stochastics, optimization and mathematical finance. Apart from gaining expertise in the subject, students of the University of Mannheim can also benefit from many other advantages, for instance a semester abroad, diverse leisure activities, as well as active exchange with companies in numerous industries.
Thanks to close an interdisciplinary collaboration with the Business School and the Department of Economics, you can take advantage of the excellent range of courses offered by three different schools within just one degree program.

During their studies, students can already test and apply their mathematical skills in statistics and artificial intelligence in the scope of cooperation projects with companies. Together with professors, the Students' Association for Data Analytics & Statistics STADS works jointly on questions set by our cooperation partners in business and economy. You can take part in STADS activities right from the first semester.
