Preparing ERC 2027 Proposals: Open Science and Research Data Management Requirements
Addressing Research Data Management and Open Science practices effectively and in compliance with ERC requirements is an important component of a competitive proposal under the recently announced ERC Work Programme 2027. These practices are not merely formalities. The ERC has mandatory requirements (e.g., Open Access publishing, implementation of FAIR data principles) and recommended practices (e.g., preregistration, reproducibility packages), both of which need to be addressed in specific, project focused detail and contribute to the evaluation of your ERC application(s).
In this session, we will present the ERC's requirements and recommendations and work through practical examples to demonstrate what needs to be done to ensure the highest scores possible. We will also explain how the Research Data Centre and Open Science Office at the University Library can support you in writing about Open Science and Research Data Management for the ERC 2027 proposals.
