Beschreibung:
Where do gender gaps come from and how can households, firms, and governments close them? Once a niche topic, the economics of gender now sits at the centre of debates about pay equity, promotion, caregiving, entrepreneurship, and corporate governance. This course will focus on gender roles in various contexts including intra-household decision-making and time allocation; human capital and fertility choices; the role of identity and social norms; leadership/promotions and institutional frameworks. We will cut through buzzwords and myths to clarify what the evidence shows and where uncertainty remains. We will use various approaches to understand the content: lectures, case studies, insights from practice, and students’ presentations.

Beschreibung:
Design thinking is a multidisciplinary and cross-cutting subject in all business disciplines, including marketing. This course aims to give students a deep understanding of design thinking methodologies and how to apply them to develop practical solutions and innovative product and service ideas. The course will use design thinking strategies from a holistic, human-centred design and collaborative perspective. Students will develop skills as researchers, strategists, observers, and storytellers through individual critical thinking, individual assignments, and cooperative challenges. They will then apply what they have learned to a challenge, exploring innovative and creative ways to make a social and tangible impact on their challenge.
The significance of design thinking for Corporate Hackers is its ability to disrupt traditional problem-solving approaches and cultivate a mindset of agility and innovation within organisations. Corporate Hackers utilise design thinking to question the established norm, bringing about rapid and substantial change by employing empathy, creativity, and human-centred approaches. By incorporating these methodologies, students will devise solutions and serve as catalysts for change within businesses, positioning themselves to navigate intricate environments and expedite business transformation.
Students should have a collaborative and multidisciplinary mindset, a specific interest in design thinking with a human-centred approach, and the ability to combine empathy and creativity/ innovation to generate solutions.

Beschreibung:
Achieving corporate sustainability is a challenge that increasingly occupies twenty-first century corporations and their key stakeholders. There are increasing pressures on corporations from governments, shareholders and political interest groups to change wasteful and destructive practices. The path forward is protracted, noisy and tough. The challenge for corporations is to create value through sustainability. This seminar focuses on how senior executives and change agents can implement effective strategies to support such value creation. The focus of this seminar is on the change strategies involved – incremental and transformational – required to shift organizations towards sustainability.
