CDSE Alumna Prof. Dr. Pia Pinger, Professor of Economics at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences of the University of Cologne is awarded an ERC Starting Grant for her research project “OPPORTUNITY”.
The project investigates whether and, if so, why people from different socioeconomic groups tend to make systematically different decisions when choosing their educational or career path. Another focus is on the question of how ability signals such as grades and test scores influence the selection of talent at those critical junctions in life.
