Many congratulations to CDSB doctoral candidate Maximilian Beichert and alumnus Dr. Andreas Bayerl on receiving the Best Student Paper Award at the Workshop on Information Systems and Economics – WISE conference 2022 hosted at Copenhagen Business School for their joint work with Professor Jacob Goldenberg (Reichman University) and Professor Andreas Lanz (HEC Paris)!
In their paper the authors study whether companies should use low-status or high-status influencers when trying to convert as many followers to buyers as possible on a user-generated content network. Using the example of Instagram, they show that a potential explanation for the dominance of low-status influencers is that they invest in the connections through intimacy.
